Workers and the Poor

We believe it is the Methodist discipline and Christian obligation to care for and empower the poor. This is carried out at the Open Table of Christ primarily in the Providence Community areas of 02905 and 02907. Almost all of our ministries interact with the working and the poor in our society and we believe in connecting everyone to build a community that looks inward, where everyone is loved and valued and can feel safe being who they are - regardless of race, gender, social class level, religion, sexual orientation and any other "labels" that define people - as well as a community that looks outward in its desire to bring about social change for the common good. Our motto of "Do Justice, Love Mercy and Walk Humbly With God" brings this into better focus.
