The
Healing Ministry team consists of lay and eucharistic ministers
of the OTC who are devoted to the prayerful, compassionate service
to church members and friends. The team usually meets monthly
for prayer and reflection. The primary focus of this ministry
is on individual spiritual growth and prayer enabling us to minister
to other's through visitation of the sick, sending cards and notes,
making phone calls, transportation to important appointments,
and possibly a delivery of food to those in crisis. Many ad-hoc
members of the team respond individually by carrying forward the
work of this ministry
The ministry's Eucharistic Team administers communion in hospitals
and homes of those desiring the sacraments. Prayer shawls, prayed
over by the congregation and knitted by our church knitting group,
are delivered to several of our sick.
.
An extension of our team work is provided in a monthly ecumenical
worship service, led by Clarice Gothberg and the Healing Team,
at the Orchard View Nursing Home. In addition prayer and Bible
study is a part of the life at Colony House in Providence, where
team member Andrea Diaz responds to the call for prayer, bible
study and comfort for those seeking spiritual devotions.
The church Wednesday morning prayer group responds to prayer requests,
whether it be in a group prayer setting or individually. Prayer
partners are often formed leading to a close spiritual bonding
between individuals.
Coming together in special healing services provides great comfort
and strength to those suffering a loss, hardship, or illness.
These special events occur during the year as needed.
For anyone interested in this healing ministry, please call Clarice
Gothberg at the church at 401.941. 2212.
